The ballet Don Quixote has a long history, first presented by the Bolshoi Ballet in 1869, and based on the famous Cervantes novel. Don Quixote, obsessed with tales of bravery and beauty, dreams of bewitching desert dryads. His heroic adventures lead him through a gypsy camp and into the midst of a fiesta celebrating the betrothal of Kitri and Basilio.
